- The Opus data editor is, by default, in New mode when you
- enter data into an empty cell. New mode will also be in
- effect when you enter data into an existing cell by first
- pressing an alphanumeric or punctuation key. If you wish to
- edit an existing cell, you should enter Edit mode directly
- by pressing Insert. While editing an existing cell, you may
- at any time retrieve its original, non-edited contents by
- again pressing Insert. Other keys that place you in Edit
- mode while the cell pointer is in an existing cell are
- Backspace, Delete, and ESC.
-
- To delete a cell, it is not sufficient to clear the edit
- area and then press RETURN/ENTER, as the contents of the
- edit area have only been removed from the display and
- not erased from memory. Deleting a cell is accomplished
- by clicking on the Cross (cell deletion) icon in the panel.
-
- Clicking on the Check (data entry) icon has the same effect
- as pressing RETURN or ENTER.
